Since faction warfare is usually blob-on-blob (right?) and since I can't really afford to lose my raven, I'm thinking I'll replace the shield boost amp with an afterburner (for staying away from the hostile blob...about 144 km away...), and put two heavy energy neutralizers (or maybe vampires...probably neuts though) to counter a fast warp-scrambling/webbing frigate...(If I neut their capacitor, they have to stop scrambling/webbing, right?)
Is this a good plan? I figure I'll stay far away from hostiles whenever possible and warp out promptly if outnumbered - do I have a chance of _not_ losing my raven before I earn enough money from faction warfare to buy a new one? Is it even possible to earn isk from faction warfare (assuming I play safe & smart and am a good thinker/planner/tactician/coordinator/coordinatee) or is it just a waste of isk?
Hahahahaha! This is one of the funnier posts I've seen on these boards.
The mighty Afterburner module saves the day, again and again! Overpowered, I say. Good, good plan!
Heh.
Look, if you're faced with 30 people, some of them in fast T2 ships with MWD's, overdrives, and other modules, your afterburner ain't gonna do squat. They will catch you, tackle you, and kill you before you can even lock the first frigate to neutralize its cap.
I don't know if your missiles can hit from 144 km away. Can they? Can you even lock targets that far, in a Raven?
Besides, you seem to be under the impression that once you manage to warp out, you're safe. Now imagine the reality: you're in a system with 30 hostiles, and they've camped the gates, their scouts are ready to probe you out, scan you, intercept you if you go to any planet or station, and your Raven sitting at 144 km from the gate is probably being approached by 4 - 5 cov-ops flying cloaked.
All they have to do to catch you is drop cloak, jam and web you, and tell fire support to warp to them (people can warp to their buddies at 150 km away, and since you're so conveniently sitting at 144 km... it's easy, all they have to do is be 6 km from you).
